  • Hello!

    The Photography Smiths consist of husband/wife photographers Mikey and Samantha Smith.

    We think moments shouldn’t just be captured, they should be handcrafted. And while we’re not great with words, we believe in the power of images to tell our story, and if you’d like, they can tell yours too.

    Thank you for taking the time to stop by our blog. Here you can find some of our favorite work and personal adventures along the way.

    Available for travel worldwide :).

Samantha {The Senior Model Experience|King George Photographer}

Every year we for a very short time we shoot at this amazing sunflower field. In the past the flowers were gorgeous but this year they were even more amazing! I might have to thank the rain for this! Seriously, the flower were huge and the stalks were so tall! For Samantha’s session we decided to do her senior session here and  at first we thought we were going to need to reschedule. When we first started talking about outfits and accessories a huge storm started to rolled in. It was raining so hard I thought for sure we were going to have to cancel for the day. But after 15 minute the sky opened up and we had the most amazing light!!! The sun looks like it was just giving Samantha a great big hug! The mixture of the location, amazing light and Samantha’s perfect smile was such a dream!!!

Enjoy our favorites!

xoxo,

Samantha

The Senior Model Experience {Fredericksburg Senior Photographer}

Last week we got together with our senior models for a little meet and greet then 2 quick  style shoots. I loved having this chance to get them all together because even though they all have different styles and personalities they are still all the same! You wouldn’t believe how quickly they became friends then once we started shooting you would have thought they had been best friends!!! We seriously had so much fun! First going to our neighbor Carls then a local farm. Going to Carls on one of the HOTTEST (seriously it was ridiculously HOT) July days was probably not one of the best  ideas but it was fun! Our ice cream melted in 2 minutes but it really didn’t matter because it was hilarious!

After that we headed back to the studio to change then do a few more photos at a field nearby. So we styled them up and where headed on our way. We only shot for about 30 more minutes then we decided that we all deserved Chipotle! For two of my girls it was their first time there and yup they LOVED it!!!

Enjoy some of our favorites! We will be doing another shoot next week!

xoxo,

Samantha

Brittany {The Senior Model Experience| Virgnia Senior Photographer}

Oh I how I LOVE my seniors! Brittany’s a gorgeous 2013 high school senior. We had such a great time at her parent’s family friends home in Westmoreland. They lived right on the river and their landscaping was absolutely amazing! But whew, we had to deal with some crazy weather to finally be able to shoot her session! When we first scheduled her session back in May we had a monsoon, the same for the second, third, forth and fifth – yes really we had to reschedule five time due to all the crazy thunderstorms we had this summer! I  have to say it was all worth it though! Brittany has a gorgeous smile and seriously rocked the model face! I LOVE when our seniors date our other senior clients 😉 Sam – Brittany’s boyfriend came along and of course I had him in a few because these two are so darn cute together!

Check out a few of our favorites!

Happy Tuesday!

xoxo,

Samantha

Emily {2014 Senior Model | The Senior Model Experience}

Meet Emily our Essex High School Senior Model! Ahhh this girl is sooo darn gorgeous. When we first met the first thing I noticed were those gorgeous blue eyes!  Seriously, all I told her was to look at me and it was nothing but amazingness!

For her session we went for more of a small town country type of look. We had so much fun hanging out and getting to know each other! I seriously LOVE my senior girls!!!

Enjoy a few of our favorites from Emily’s session!!!

The Adventures of Cohen {Just a boy and his dog}

There once was a little boy and his dog. When the little boy first came home the dog was very unsure of what was happening. There were a lot of changes and a new little person who now received all the attention. This didn’t upset the dog but made her more and more curious. Everyday she would try to get the little boy to look at her but nothing would happen. She tried sniffing – that made him sneeze, she tried barking – that made him cry and she even tried licking but that always got her in trouble. Months went by and even though she was still curious – she was patient. The dog stayed by the boy’s side till one day the boy turned and stared. They stared at each other for about 5 minutes till the boy grew tired and fell asleep on his tummy. A few more months went by and the boy started to move. She mainly noticed because he love her tail nub. Then a few more months went by and he started to crawl. The dog would lay very still as the boy crawled across her back then over her head. But she didn’t mind because he would also massage her ears with a tug, a pull then a big squeeze. Sometimes it hurt and she would wimpier but still she never moved. Finally, the day came where the boy could talk! But instead of saying words he started to bark and growl! The dog loved this and they would talk to each other for hours! Shortly, after this the little boy started to walk and then to run. They would ran through the hallway, up on the couch then back down the hallway! Together, they would run outside till the sun went down and this was the dog’s favorite thing to do! She would run behind him then in front – sometimes she would nip him till he ran faster. This made the boy laugh and laugh but also run faster! When they grew tired, the boy and his dog would find a nice spot on the floor and cuddle up. And just like when the boy was a baby – the dog was patient and would not leave the boy’s side till it was time to play again.

The End.
