    The Photography Smiths consist of husband/wife photographers Mikey and Samantha Smith.

    We think moments shouldn’t just be captured, they should be handcrafted. And while we’re not great with words, we believe in the power of images to tell our story, and if you’d like, they can tell yours too.

Alexis {2014 Senior Model | The Senior Model Experience}

Alexis is by far one of the strongest individuals I have ever met! We feel so unbelievably lucky to have her as one of our senior models!
When I first met Alexis she has this natural glow and radiance about her. Her amazing personality just shines through! But there’s one thing about Alexis that you would never know if she didn’t have her wig on.
In December she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and has been fighting ever since. Next week she will be undergoing an extensive 10 day series of chemo treatments to get her ready for her Bone Marrow Transplant. She will be receiving this transplant due to a gracious stranger she has never met. But this stranger came up as an exact match. How amazing is that?!
At her session we did a variety of photos some with her wig and some without. Either way she was absolutely STUNNING! Alexis was amazing at working the model face and has the most gorgeous smile. You can see her sweet personality every time she laughs!
Please pray for Alexis. Pray for her health, strength and courage! The treatment and transplant she is about to endure is one of the hardest thing anyone could ever go through and at 17 she deserves a beautiful healthy life.

The studio {The Adventures of Cohen}

What an amazing week it has been. I just feel like everything is happening so fast! Cohen and I were just driving back from speech. I saw the building was empty and just decided to see if it was available. It was available and we were able to view it that day. Then we knew we loved it so we signed right away!

I want to open as soon as possible so last weekend we got to work and started pulling loose nails, patching walls and painting the walls to match our brand! The only problem was we needed to do all this with Cohen. If you have even been around a three year old you probably know that any type of work is near impossible! We tried finding a sitter but everyone we usually used was busy so I packed a bag full of snacks and filled his book bag with toys. He did pretty well the first few times just eating and playing with toys but by the fourth day he needed to help us because he was ‘big!’ So we put Cohen to work!

Caitlyn {Class of 2013 | The Senior Model Experience}

Oh goodness get ready for some gorgeousness!!! Seriously, Caitlyn is just too darn cute!! We had so much fun at her senior session! Her outfits were so darn amazing and she has the BEST smile! For her session Caitlyn wanted area with lots of flowers and greenery! We definitely had some amazing locations! Also, she wanted to be sure to have a few photos of her and her best friend Casey. These two have been friends since 5th grade! They will be rooming together next year at VCU so I made sure to get lots of photos of the two of them for their room! I LOVE when my seniors bring a friend because I feel like they always help make you laugh and feel more like yourself!

Joe and Shasta {Fredericksburg Engagement Session}

I am soo obsessed with all these spring engagement sessions! We have been so bless to have such great weather lately! Seriously, we just feel so lucky to have such awesome awesome clients! It also helps that our couples are just so darn gorgeous! Joe and Shasta have this crazy amazing connection that was just wonderful to capture. They will be getting married this July at an amazing manor in Baltimore, MD. I loved how carefree they were and their amazing willingness to try anything! Plus wait till you see Shasta’s shoes!!! They are amazing!!!

10 at 10 { A Monday Blog 3}

1. Whew! Can you believe it? Blogging on a Monday two weeks in a row!!

2. Be sure to read every line because we are going to be announcing something BIG!

3. This past week has been one of the craziest times of our lives!

4. One of our biggest dreams is coming true!

5. It’s not what you think.

6. No, really its not what all of facebook is thinking.

7. If you don’t know what I am talking about I will just say it.

8. I’m NOT I repeat I am NOT pregnant!

9. Though that would be nice one day…..

10. But we did sign on a space for our new STUDIO!!!!!!!!!!

We will be located at 1701 Princess Anne St. Fredericksburg, VA 22401. In front of The Inn at the Olde Silk Mill!!!!! Once we get our sign up front and completely revamp the inside we will be posting more photos! Our gear is currently getting cleaned but here’s an instagram photo for now!
